Hah - if you look at my Substack, clearly I have not ventured into the layout and design tools yet ... ;-) I think the vignettes you find sticking in your head are the ones that make the best stories. At least, that's what I'm writing, for what it's worth ...

Your vignette about the young men attending a Boy Scout event was priceless. My wife, who grew up on a small farm in the far northwest corner of Missouri, had a difficult time trying not to laugh when I had her read it.
We both have personally used telephones with no buttons or even a rotary dial.
Such a nice way to spread gossip around small rural towns.
Nowadays we use the internet to spread gossip instead of party telephone lines.
I hope there are more of these memoirs to come!
